Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
I had a revelation about this Scripture. On the surface, Jesus is using earthly terms to show the value of the Kingdom of Heaven. He says that it is worth so much that one would sell everything he has to possess it. It is valuable. It is precious. I know most people think of The Lord of the Rings when they hear that word, but think about the commitment, the obsession that character had for that ring. Now, in the movie, that ring was a personification of corruption, but think about having that desire, that zeal toward the Kingdom of God.
Now, that was the surface revelation of this Scripture. This is what God revealed to me…
I know that we are humble and realize that we are nothing without Jesus. For Romans 3:23 tell us that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. However, despite ourselves, Jesus saw us for more than just where we were, or even where we are now. Jesus sees us as being precious, just like that treasure that the man sold everything to possess. Jesus gave everything He had—His very life, His blood—merely to establish and posses a relationship with us.
To those do not feel loved….
To those who feel their lives are far too messed up for God to accept or love them….
To those that feel they have nothing to offer…
To those who feel lost and alone…
Jesus thought enough of you to die in your place. He understood that you could not be redeemed and accepted by The Father without a blood sacrifice of a spotless lamb, so He became that for you. Had you been the only one to fall short; had you been the only one to slip up and fall—He would have done it just for you. That is love. In fact, that is a love you will not find in anyone else on this earth.
You are precious. You are loved.
