Dear Hater

Dear Hater

9/14/2015

Dear Hater,

You probably don’t think this message is to you.

Perhaps partially you are correct.

This message is to those who hate.

Most of you do not think you fall into that category.

“That’s someone else.”

“Those other people have those hang-ups.”

“It’s them with the problems and the unresolved issues.”

“It’s not me.”

“It’s someone else.”

Dear Hater,

I saw the other day that there is an actual website out whose very name, which can be considered offensive, would suggest they are against hate. Yet most of the people I have seen endorse and promote this site are just as hateful as the people they are attempting to separate themselves from. That’s a bit ironic, no?

I wonder if that was you.

Dear Hater,

You are not fooling anyone but yourselves.

Ask yourself these questions;

“Have I ever made fun of someone because they were different?”

“Have I ever made decisions in my life that affected others because of a preconceived idea I had based on the mental compartmentalization I made of someone?”

“Have I ever made a statement that I had to look around first to make sure no one was listening that might be offended?”

Dear Hater,

I’ve heard your proclamations:

~

“I hate Christians because they are all holier-than-thou hypocrites who go around shoving Jesus on everyone and judging everyone who isn’t them. Your Jesus can’t be that powerful if He can’t even keep you in line!”

~

“I hate democrats because they want to give my hard-earned tax dollars to lazy bums who don’t want to work for a living. You can’t multiply wealth by dividing it!”

~

“I hate those who support gay rights because they force us to not only accept what is disgusting and perverted in our eyes, but they expect us to accept calling a union between people of the same-sex by the same name that we call our sacred covenant we make with our God.”

~

“I hate black people with their sagging pants, stupid hats and broken English. They are rude and inconsiderate in public, quick to resort to violence, and are disrespectful toward everyone. They’d rather steal and hustle than get a real job!”

~

“I hate Muslims because they look stupid in their turbans and they threaten to kill us just because we are different. Don’t judge us for being “infidels” and we won’t judge you for your practices involving with goats.”

~

“I hate rich people because they are smug, arrogant pricks who live well beyond their means. They find ways to humiliate those less privileged while making themselves seem greater than they actually are.”

~

“I hate homeless people because they smell bad and harass me for money when I walk around downtown. Go get a job you leech!”

~

“I hate cops because they are violent and mean and take everything to the extreme. Just because they have a little authority, they aren’t happy unless they are stopping us from having fun!”

~

“I hate republicans because they are selfish elitists that have never experienced poverty or lack, yet are quick to say those who have nothing are where they are because they are lazy.”

~

“I hate people who are pro-life because they feel it’s their business to tell a woman what she can and cannot do to and with her own body. Mind your own business!”

~

“I hate Jews because they are whiny. They are the cheapest people in the world. They will find any way they can to screw you out of your money.”

~

“I hate kids because they have no respect; they yell and scream and care nothing at all for those around them.”

~

“I hate fat people because they are disgusting to look at and take up so much space. They have so many health issues that it drives up the cost of health insurance for everyone else. Not to mention they are annoying to have to sit next to on a plane.”

~

“I hate the inconsiderate drivers that weave in and out of traffic like they are a NASCAR drivers. You’re going to cause a wreck! It’s not like you’re going to get there that much sooner anyways.”

~

“I hate white people because they have opportunities I will never have. They get away with everything. It’s likely there are a different set of rules for them.”

~

“I hate dogs because they stink and bark at everything. They tear everything apart and make a mess everywhere. Stupid mutts.”

~

“I hate men because all they want is sex. They will do and say anything just to get it.”

~

“I hate atheists because all they ever have to say is negative, demeaning things about everyone’s religion. Why can’t they just let people believe what they want to believe?”

~

“I hate skinny people with their perfect bodies and awesome abs; they can eat anything and never gain any weight!”

~

“I hate rednecks because they cling to Jesus, football and guns. They are so backwoods and primitive that they could never accept a different reality than what they have always known.”

~

“I hate drunks because they are a blight to our community. They smell bad and jeopardize the entire population everything they get behind a wheel.”

~

“I hate criminals because they don’t understand the effects of their actions beyond themselves. How many lives are torn asunder because of their careless, selfish actions?”

~

“I hate politicians because all they do lie. They point out the flaws of other candidates instead of actually trying to make a difference for our nation.”

~

“I hate slow drivers in the fast lane; get over!”

~

“I hate them city folks because all they care about is money. They would sell their own mother for a dollar.”

~

“I hate women because they never go after the good guy and wonder why the guys they date treat them like crap. Maybe if you’d give the decent guys trying to be your friend a chance, you wouldn’t constantly get hurt!”

~

“I hate people who have no idea how to park. What’s worse is when they are made aware of how terrible of a job they’ve done parking and they don’t even care!”

~

“I hate crossfitters and other overzealous athletic types for they shove their efforts onto everyone else and make you feel bad for not being as healthy or as in-shape as they are.”

~

“I hate poor people because all they ever do is complain. Instead of complaining, why don’t you go out and do something about it?”

~

“I hate nerds because they are introverted and socially awkward. They have an unhealthy view of reality because it is so influenced by fantasy.”

~

“I hate sports fanatics whose entire existence revolves around one season, one sport and one team. Especially the one who get tattoos of their favorite team. So annoying.”

~

“I hate those who are against gay rights! They can’t help they way they were born! Your religion doesn’t justify your bigotry!”

~

“I hate those who get abortions. They are murdering innocent children just because they are too selfish to accept the responsibility of their own actions.”

~

“I hate lazy people. Do you even lift, bro?”

~

“I hate people who text and drive. Especially since most of those people can’t even hold a typical phone conversation and drive, let alone have the ability to take their eyes off the road long enough to read and respond to insignificant messages.”

~

“I hate Mexicans because they come here taking our jobs and sending our money back home to their families instead of investing into our economy. They aren’t even paying taxes because they aren’t actual citizens. And they don’t even bother learning the language!”

~

“I hate people who never use their blinker when changing lanes, especially when they get mad when people don’t let them over, as if we can read their mind!”

~

“I hate Catholics. They are responsible for the Crusades, allow pedophilia between priest and alter boys, and drink alcohol. Elitists hypocrites.”

~

“I hate people in the armed forces because most of them did not even sign up because they are patriots but rather because it was a sound economic decision. Everyone expects you to praise them just because they are doing their jobs!”

~

“I hate church people because they turn their nose up at those who are not a part of their congregation. They are rude and self-centered. If Jesus is anything like these people, I want nothing to do with Him!”

~

“I hate potheads. They cling to the fact that in some places it’s legal to partake in marijuana for medicinal purposes and therefore think that smoking pot should be generally and openly accepted. No, you’re still a drug addict!”

~

“I hate the people merging onto the freeway who expect you to let them over; if you’re going slower than me, what makes you think I want you in front of me? I’m pretty sure the acceleration lane is specifically designed for you to get to the speed of the traffic you are attempting to merge with.”

~

“I hate fanatical religious people who go to the extreme about everything! I’m talking about those who bomb abortion clinics and picket soldier’s funerals. Don’t make a public spectacle of your beliefs, forcing what you think is right or wrong down everyone’s throats and expect everyone to submit to your way of thinking! If you god is a tyrant, you can keep him to yourself!”

~

“I hate judges who have the ability to pardon but instead choose to sentence people to the maximum penalty just to set an example. Have you ever heard of mercy?”

~

“I hate people who place greater value on the lives of animals than the lives of people. It’s just a pet, not your child; get over it.”

~

“I hate the people in poverty who want $15 an hour to flip burgers when they obviously have no idea the effect on the economy that decision would make. If you want to make more money, then make yourself worth more money.”

~

“I hate the intolerance of those who have a difference of opinion and respond to that difference of opinion with insults and ridicule and complete disrespect. The most popular thing I hear, whether explicit or implied, is; ‘If that’s the way you think then you are just plain stupid!’”

~

I hate the disrespect we have for our fellow Americans.

Dear Hater,

Does any of that sound familiar?

I’m sure you’ve never said anything like that before.

I’m not casting stones because I am guilty myself.

The point wasn’t so much to crucify the guilty, but to understand that we can all be haters sometimes.

We hate when we don’t get our way.

We hate when people do not see things the way we do.

Dear Hater,

I’m talking to you.

We all hate some people at some point in our lives.

We either hate them because we aren’t them or because they aren’t us.

It’s pretty much as simple as that.

Dear Hater,

You can’t change the world if you can’t change yourself.

And if you haven’t noticed yet, the hating hasn’t improved anything.

Dear Hater,

Stop hating.

It can only start with you.
